iPod nano was washed and then turned on is it trash?

My daughter left her iPod in pants pocket. I washed it and my older daughter found it. They turned it on the screen lights up but wont play.

Is there any hope for it or is it parts now.

My daughter did the same thing. After gnashing teeth for a little bit, we just forgot about its existence until I happened to plug it in after six months or so and it worked (and still works) fine: it just needed enough time to dry out.

Both of us were ecstatic!

Mine took about a year and three months, then finally started working again.

I would get some electronics cleaner or some isopropyl alcohol (>90%) and a soft paintbrush.

use the logicboard guide to disassemble the iPod.

clean everything "odd" looking (white/greenish residue) with the IPA and the paintbrush.don't forget the dock connector. let it dry - reassemble it and try to power it on.

if it wont power on, try to charge it - it could be that the battery got discharged while the whole whashing/cleaning process
