No Backlight after LVDS connector change

Hello,

I have a liquid damaged Macbook Air Mid 2013 model that works fine other than the backlight not functioning.

Heres the messy bit... the lvds connector was damaged, along with many tracks, it was a mess but got it replaced (even though it looks terrible!) this now allows me to see a picture on the screen which is good as i couldn't get that before. The cable has also been changed as the pins were buggered in there too.

I tested the fuse before the connector was changed, and it was fine, but now its blown. Ive checked everything i can and the only thing thats a bit weird is that Pin 6 on the LVDS connector from the screen goes to ground, which is also LED_Return 6.

Is this correct or do i have an iffy cable?

Any advice you can offer would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Jay

of course you replaced the fuse? Post some images of your LVDS repair with your question

I haven't replaced it yet, I bridged it after measuring the current at around 70mA but still had no light. The LVDS looks terrible as some of the contacts came off the board.

Is it possible the backlight board is damaged on the LCD side of things, the only thing that has me worried is that the LVDS cable from the LCD measures pin 6 as ground

Okay so you know you have a bad fuse, a bad LVDS connector and possibly bad traces. you need to start fixing some of those things first before you can do any proper troubleshooting.

The LVDS connector I'm confident is OK (apart from the 1 pin that's missing) which happens to be the same pin as the one that seems to show ground from the LCD. I don't know where to get one of those fuses and I was thinking of bridging it whilst testing (not switched on though)
