What is the iMac G4 EMC 1973

I have an iMac G4 with an EMC 1973. I can not find any specifics on it. Your database only lists a model with EMC 1873. I need to know what type of RAM it supports and what O/S.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Look on the bottom of the stand for which model number you have and let us know.

I have the same EMC. So my model on the baseplate reads: "Model M6498 EMC No. 1973" It's a "desktop lamp" iMac, a 15" with an 80GB HD and 256 MB SDRAM. Trying to figure out what the processor is in it, and what family it would fit into.

There are 5 machines listed with the M6498 designation. None show the 1973 EMC. This was about the star of the time for using EMC numbers. Of the 5 machines only one has a 80 GB hard drive listed as standard. It's this machine: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/im...
