Why my microphone is so disturbed?

Hello everybody!! I have this MacBook and everything but one thing is great: my microphone does not work. I mean, sometimes it's perfect, but usually there's like an electric noise that covers every sound in the background, even my own voice, so that if i am talking on skype or ichat the other persone just hears this annoying noise. What do i have to do? Do you think replacing the microphone is the only thing to do? Thank you very much!!

I uploaded what my microphone records in a SILENT room!! Here is the link:

Sounds like loose connection

If this is a new MacBook it should be covered under manufacturers warranty. Sounds to me like a short in the wiring - need to resolder... it's and advanced DIY repair. If beyond your ability take it to an electronics repair shop.

If this answer is acceptable please return and mark it.

Good Luck,

Depends - maybe it's a loose wire or solder joint (lots of known issues with old solder joints "going"). It's related to the "green" lead free solder all manufacturers have to use.
