A1286 - Screen and bootup freeze

My Screen started freezing with pink lines about 3 days ago. But would come good after force shutdown. However it started freezing more and more quickly after restart until it wont actually boot up any more...

Thoughts?

Cheers

First hook it up to an external monitor to try to isolate the problem. If the picture is good on the external it rules out the GPU as the culprit. This does sound like a failing screen, but running diagnostics helps save money on buying unneeded parts.

Thanks for your reply Mayer.

Its healed itself overnight, but I suspect not for long.

Another note that I forgot to mention is that the mouse and keyboard become unresponsive at the same time as the monitor, but music will keep going. Not sure if this gives you further clues.

I'll be sure to hook up an external monitor when the problem inevitably returns.
