phylicia sifuentes, safe the rice for some cooking. It does no good in electronic repair. It is a big myth and is equivalent to doing absolutely nothing. Remove the battery and do not try to charge or to use your phone. It is time to disassemble your Note. Use this teardown as an idea of what is involved. Once you have it open, clean everything with high grade (90%+) isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush to clean every part of your phone. Clean the connectors on the board as well as on the cables. Once you have it properly cleaned, replace the battery then re-evaluate. Hope this helps, good luck.

Thank you soooo much for the helpful advice!!!! After a day of panic and a completely black screen, I'm happy to say my Note 3 is functioning once again. Day 1- I used both the rice and cool air method. Day 2- I submerged my motherboard in 91% Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol for 15 minutes following a helpful YouTube video... This forum is a pure lifesaver!!!

This answer was originally to another question.

without more information its hard to say, but heres some general suggestions, pull the battery, there is likely still water or corrosion inside witch may cause more damage with power going through the circuit, if your conformable with it i suggest taking the phone apart and cleaning the board with isopropyl alcohol.

I don't know how to take it apart! Could I just put the whole thing in isopropyl alcohol..?

there are guides on this website, but i would not suggest puting the whole thing in alcohol, it could ruin the display, and thats the most expensive part for that phone.
