Do you need to replace the LCD

Hi guys,

So, my ipod touch 4g has a broken screen (because it felt)

and I tought I could make it by myself.

So I bought a screen (blue) on ebay.

But now I have it, there is no LCD in it. Just glass.

But now my question is: do you need to replace both?

And if yes, can you buy just a LCD?

thanks people! :)

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Normally, people replace both Lcd (to display pictures) and sensor screen ( to receive touch signals). If you are sure which part is broken, then you can replace it individually.

In your case, I suggest you replace both of them.

You can buy just Lcd.

The glass is the outside layer, the protective layer.

The digitizer is a thin film below that and gives you the touch ability. Think of it as being sandwiched between the glass and LCD.

The LCD is the screen which displays the images.
