Replaced screen and battery

Replaced battery and screen on iphone 5. All went well and worked right off the bat first time. Was using the phone about an hour later and screen froze then parts of the screen turned grey and then all black. Disassembled and reassembled and still nothing. My computer shows when I phone is plugged into it that it's in recovery mode. The screen is totally black no images. I'm gonna try and restore as itunes is suggesting. Any chance the screen is defective? What would allow it to work for an hour then just quit working?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Well, tried to restore in itunes, the screen now showers the apple logo with the loading bar underneath it. However there are 2 double lines running from top to bottom as well as faint bars all over the screen. Can't do anything with the phone. Home button is in responsive as well as the power button. Tried hard reset, soft, I think I've tried everything. Now just have to wait till the phone wears out battery because screen is on.

I think there's two options, if I'm wrong correct me guys...

1. the parts you replace made themselves malfunction.

2. when replacing them you made damage to the motherboard.

I would recommend returning the old parts to understand where the problem and on the way look on the motherboard maybe you made damage to components / something missing / broken?

Mixing up the screw placement when putting your phone back together would definitely help cause option 2. Some phones have different lengths of screws and therefore poke through and short out the mother board or something.

The screen in the iphone could be defective but that would not have made the phone go into recovery mode.

The first thing i would like you to try is hold the power button and the home button for 10 seconds then release them both, if the screen remains blank plug the phone into your computer and see if it is still in recovery mode or not.

If it is not in recovery mode then the problem will be the screen is defective, can i ask where you got the screen from and is it original or a cheap copy screen.
