Replacement Superdrive

Early 2009 Machine: OK, im confused. when i research the item number this site provides for my machine with MacPros website it says that 661-5025 is a PATA Superdrive thats only compatible to late 2009 macbooks or unibody pros. Can anyone shed light on this discrepancy.

I think we're getting caught up on the PATA/SATA concept. Regardless, as long as you have an Early 2009 MacBook, the optical drive I pointed you to on your last post WILL work in an Early 2009 MacBook. I say this with such confidence because I personally pulled these drives out of an Early 2009 MacBook.

Backing up and clarifying:

This drive that I pointed you to (186088) on your last post will ABSOLUTELY work on your Early 2009 MacBook (as long as you do indeed have an Early 2009 white MacBook).

The part on our site (186088) indicates a compatibility only with Early and Mid 2009 MacBooks. If another site says it is compatible with Unibodies, they're wrong. It's a completely different drive than you see on the Unibodies.

661-5025 is a PATA Super Drive that Shipped with Early 2009 and Mid 2009 Poly Macbooks

It would Not Be compatible with Late 09 or Unibody Macbook Pros.
