replaced display assembly won't slide to unlock
after the display assembly was replaced the phone powers on, it updates but the slide to unlock function doesn't work. How do you fix that?

cjkricko, double check your work and make sure that all the connectors are properly seated. Use these guides to work on your phone. You also want to check the digitizer connector and check for broken or bend pins. If everything looks okay, consider replacing the assembly one more time. It is absolutely possible that you have a failed digitizer. Hope this helps, good luck.

First, open the phone up again and check and reseat all of the connections from the display/digitizer assembly. If this doesn't fix the problem, you may have received a defective part. This happens pretty often and the only course of action is to try and return the part to the seller in exchange for a new one. If you bought it on eBay or Amazon where parts are cheaper and of lower quality, it may be best to try to get a refund and order a new part from iFixit instead.
