tray opens and stays open...

My Xbox is not letting me close the tray once I press the open/close button. Turn it on/off the tray comes open. The power button flashes green as if the tray is open. I've tried updating it. Unplugging it. I need help! I'd like to fix it myself instead of spending money on it...
