What is this part and where does it go?

I was disassembling an iPhone gsm, my first , I usually deal with verizon, and this piece appeared on my mat, no idea where it came from. Please help. Thanks.

That part goes under the battery connector tab. Place part, connect battery, put screw through the holes and tighten carefully.
