Installed dual hard drive but now how do I access it?

I replaced my optical drive with a 1T hard drive. Installation went great but when I start up my Macbook Pro, it says it cannot read the drive but it shows up under Disk utility. I'm new to this but I was hoping to run it off of the new 1T hard drive instead of the 160GB that it came with. Can I do that/is it possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Options

Go to Disk Utilities and format the drive. Give it at least one partition GUID.
