Can you remove the battery that indicates ink level?

I have an "incompatible cartridge" message. I have done everything on the internet forums to solve this except replace the battery that reads the cartridge. Is there a way to do this? I'd like to try.

I have almost the same problem. I replaced both the color and black cartridge and the color is fine however the black is not working. I can't figure it out. I know it's the correct one.
