LCD flex cable cut after power button replacement

Hi,

I was replacing the power button and all did well, I replaced the power button, unfortunately the connector was damaged so I did everything for nothing. After I took the power button off again i noticed that on the LCD flex the narrowest cable was split apart. The digitizer works, but the screen is black.

What is the function of the narrow cable?

Thanks in advance.

That is the power for the backlight, it has two solder pads. If intact it can be soldered back, if split above the end, then you need to replace the entire front screen assembly for your iPhone 4.

Thanks for the answer. Can the screen show anything, if it the backlight isn't connected?
