Flickering LED

My LCD has developed a flicker to the backlight. My machine is not under warranty. From what I understand these machines do not have a separate inverter. I have seen conflicting information stating that I either need to replace the screen or the main board. Is there an easy way to tell which is bad?

The warranty ran out last month. I just ran the new EFI 1.4 update and the issue seems to have resolved for now. Hopefully this is the fix. Thanks for the quick answer.

The computer most definitely should be under warranty.

Check it here:

It will be hard to tell which components are bad without actually disassembling the unit and testing separate parts.

If you really want to get to the bottom of it the apple store may be a great option to isolate the issue so you can attempt a self repair in the future if the device is out of warranty.

Hope this Helps!
