No display on startup - Black screen

When turning the iMac 27 on, I can hear the start sound, and the harddrive running. There is no white light.

I have tried to remove the RAM, the power cord, resetting the PRAM did not help.

Is it the display.. the graphics card?

Do the last four characters of the serial number contain one of the following groups (for example, xxxxxxxxDHJQ):

DHJQ, DHJW, DL8Q, DNGH, DNJ9, or DMW8

DPM1, DPM2, DPNV, DNY0, DRVP, DY6F, F610

If so. your machine may be covered under an Apple warranty extension program.

Its the display. Check to see it the display cord is connected to the motherboard. I had this problem before and it was the displays cord fault. If you need more help, just ask :D
