spark plug stuck maybe miss threaded

a mechanic tried to change my spark plugs and one would not come out. he was afraid that anymore pressure would break it causing me to be car-less. question:should i change the other three plugs to prolong the life of the car while i save for a new car? I currently drive the car but gently.

First make sure that the plugs need to be changed, if you can remove one plug, you can use this guide to tell whether the plugs are in good condition or not. Spark plugs do not need to be changed very often (they usually last for 10k-20k miles) To answer your question, changing the 3 plugs isn't a great idea but it's better than keeping all 4 in if they are in bad shape. However, if you want to try and loosen/remove the stuck plug, you could try spraying some WD40 around the base of it and letting it sit overnight. (Make sure you've let the car cool down for at least an hour first since WD40 is flammable) In the morning, dry up the area and try to remove the plug.

sherri bebout, I would leave the plug in, but change the other ones. REmember that there is a reason why the old plug does not come out. Most likely is that it was cross-threaded or it or the thread seized in the cylinder head. You are risking having to pull the head to get the old plug out, then to re-thread the spark plug opening will be a costly job. Leave it, drive it and save up. either for a new car or for a repair/replacement of the cylinder head of your current car. Hope this helps, good luck.
