Burned Firewire Port Due To Salad Dressing Disaster
I fell asleep with a container of salad dressing and my Macbook Pro beside me, and my cat saw that as a perfect opportunity to try out my new salad dressing. :(
The salad dressing got spilled all over the keyboard, but worse yet, somehow got into all the ports. I awoke to the firewire port on my Macbook sparking and the disgusting smell of burnt salad dressing.
I've tried to clean it out the best I possibly could, but I'm scared to try to turn it on again. All the ports look relatively normal, except for the firewire port which looks charred and burnt. I have no idea what I should do next....Or if it's even safe to attempt to use it when it's in this condition and I would very much appreciate any help or advice anyone can give me. (aside from not to fall asleep with salad dressing and a cat who loves it)
Thanks
Is this a good question?
Nevyn Noir, what are the last three digits of your computers serial number? That would help us to properly identify your computer. Also, you do want to post a couple of images of your damage with your question. That will let us see what you see. For now, do no longer try to turn it on or charge it. I would remove the battery as well
