How can I fix the microphone?

I have been trying to make videos on my Samsung Galaxy S4 and use the voice commands, however the phone says that the microphone is in use with another application. I have closed down every application and it still says that the microphone is in use. I cannot make any phone calls, the phone stops working sending or receiving phone calls and during the one time it connected there was no sound at all. Is there a way to fix this from home?

there might be a short on the microphones connection. try cleaning the area
