Why can't I hear anything when answering a phone call?

Little to no sound comes through the ear speaker when answering a phone call. However, the caller on the other end can hear the conversation fine.

Options

Sounds like the ear speaker is clogged up or is on the way out. If you have had this phone for several years, dirt from use may have it clogged or just the shear use has the ear speaker going bad.
