How do I fix my Kindle Fire touchscreen?

My kindle fire touchscreen has just refused to work. It does not respond whatsoever. I can turn it on via the power button but I am not able to unlock it hence the broken touchscreen. I have done everything that I could find online but nothing worked. Can anyone help?
