Can iBook work without monitor?

Shalom all.

I have an old dead iBook G3 12". Video cable from the motherboard to the monitor ragged. I disconnected the monitor from the body.

When booting from the CD drive or hard drive are full of sound can be heard and the some process goes.

Q: Can I use TV as an external monitor through the Apple audio-video cable? Which system installed on a hard drive 9 10 or Linux?

I could not get video on my TV, only black screen. Can I use my laptop as the media player for TV?

Thank you. I got a video on an external monitor via miniVGA2VGA adapter. I can not get the video to the TV via Apple audio-video cable.

I don have screen on this iBook any more :(

If the card is not completely blown

you'll get video from the external port. If you don't get external video the entire card is blown, not just the internal side of the circuit.

Sometimes your laptop screen is black due to cable, inverter, backlight or LCD problems... other times it's the video chip or logic board.

Testing will tell you where the problem lies.

== The TV problem could be resolution setting of laptop == Drop back to 640x480 or no more than 800x600, Play with the HZ settings and see if you can get the TV to work. Many TVs were not set up for higher resolution composite or Svideo HZ.
