If your HP touchpad is not charging, it may be that you have to reset your plugin i.e. the cylinder that you plug into the wall. To reset it, unplug the cylinder from the outlet, remove the usb cable. You then twist the end of the cylinder with the prongs counter clockwise, then you twist it back to its original position. You don't have to twist it that far until you reach resistance in either direction.

There you have just reset your plugin, so plug it in directly to a wall outlet and hopefully you will be able to charge your touchpad. Leave it plugged in for 2 hours to see if it worked.

when you plug it in is there any indication of it charging?

Update

try holding down the power button for 60 seconds.

leave device plugged in for 24 hours.

try holding down the power button for 60 again and try to start.

If you still don't have any power you may have a bad charging port:

Mine just did the same thing. I held down the power button and mashed the home button for 15 times (actually I think it was more than that) but I just kept pushing it until the Touchpad came to life. Works great now.

I have two Touchpads that had this problem. Note that when the Touchpad is in this weird mode, the charger will NOT get warm when one attempts to charge the Touchpad. It's as if there is no charger connection to the Touchpad.

My solution was as others have mentioned. Hold down the power button while rapidly-pressing the home button about 15 times. Then connect the HP wire charger to it. It flashed the sides of the home button alternately, indicating it was seeing the charger. Later, it displayed the battery icon. After that, it boots the OS. If the battery is completely dead, try it with a charger connected to it.

When I tried to use a lower current charger, it gave me the "use the original charger" warning.

I will note that the situation that led to the problem (in both cases) was sitting the Touchpad on a Touchstone charger with the cover closed. If the Touchpad is moved, the screen turned on, which used more current than the Touchstone charger could provide, eventually draining the battery to zero charge.

This always happens, to me about atlest

Over 30 times . I do this . I let the tab plugin still and do master reboot :

Hold POWER and HOME button down

till it reboots . If it dont reboot and shows msg saying Power cord Is not the right one for your tablet , thats a good sign , it means your tab still have some batt life in it .

Try NOT to ever let it drain out of batt.

Let it sit for about. 1-2 hr charging ,

It should reboot on its own if its been charging, if this still dont work .

Keep doing the power and home button hold down,. It should normally reboot any were from 10-30secs

Hope that helps
