The only way i see is opening the phone and see whats inside your iPhone

I had a similar issue yesterday.

First off there are 2 earphone jack/power switch flex assembly.

These can be identified by the part no. located on the flex ribbon that you connect to the mainboard.

They are "821-0449-A" and "821-0600-01".

I mistakenly replaced a -0600 with a -0449 and lost the sound from the earpiece. Couldn't hear anything on phonecalls etc. After installing the correct 0600 flex assembly the issue was resolved.

Just take note of the original ribbon part number and replace accordingly and it should be cool runnings after that.
