How to format an iPhone 4 on motherboard level

i recently dropped my iphone 4 in a water tub. though i pulled it out within a few seconds, it vibrated and d screen went off . unaware of what to do , i tried restarting it.. but it didnt start. so ultimately i took it to a repair shop. he has said to me that theres a 80% chance of my phone working fine again...

i wanna know, that IF incase it doesn start working , is there just any way to reset the iphone through any button on motherboard . usually every digital circuit has a reset button. does iphone have one ? if it does , how to wipe it.

because my parents are gonna take it from me to try nd get it repaired.. and if incase they r able to get it repaired , then there's some stuff on it , that i dont want them to find out !

so if there is any way to reset the iphone ,do tell me !!

Chosen Solution

Connect the phone to iTunes

Power off the phone(if applicable)

Press the home button and the switch together for 8 seconds

Keep holding the home button but release the switch, hold the home button until iTunes recognise the phone. The display of the phone should be blank after this.

This is the way to DFU erase&reinstall the software if you need to. But iPhones are pretty secure anyway, you can set commands to remotely wipe all contents and all contents are not accessible without the passcode.
