I have to push hard to get the screen to respond

Need help!! I went to a shop to replace the glass on my Samsung s4. The LCD was working perfectly fine even under the shattered glass. However, after it has been 'repaired' the phone is almost impossible to use. There is no visual damage to the LCD but I have to push hard to get the screen to respond. Is this normal? If not, any idea where I stand with the person who 'repaired' it. Thanks in advance

It sounds like the person who replaced it didn't use a glue behind the screen, this means that you the "touch" cannot be transmitted back.

As for the repair you would need to take that up with the shop. You can buy very cheaply glue insert or ideally the shop should of used optical glue for this repair.

For the Galaxy S3 this type of "tape only" repair CAN get you by, but for the S4 this isn't an option for a fully functional phone. LOCA Glue is best and plenty of shops use it. Try to find a shop that removes the LCD from the frame to do the LOCA glue repair like we do. Keeping the LCD in the frame while using the glue will end up with a mess in a few days after the repair once the excess glue that couldn't be cleaned seeps into and out of the rest of your phone.
