re battery replacement "do not remove" sticker

hi there, just got around to replacing the 3 year old battery in my 3gs iphone. everything went as described in your instructions but i had to scrape off the "do not remove" sticker mentioned in #11 because it was stuck. by doing that i destroyed it and could NOT put it back into place.. now my concern: could something short circuit with that sticker no longer in place. should i reopen the phone and place some electrical tape over the 2 screws the sticker covered.

otherwise phone works fine.

That sticker is a Warranty Sticker. If removed or damaged, Apple voids your Warranty. But as far as function, it has no function, other than to disturb you and get in the way of the repair process. You do not need to place any tape or a new sticker there.

It would be worth covering the screws with something, but it won't short circuit, unless something bad has happened.
