Upgrade MacBookPro to Bluetooth LE
I'd like to know if it is possible to upgrade the hardware of my MacBook Pro 15" Core 2 Duo A1260 to bluetooth smart

You'll find the Bluetooth board & antenna mounted on the back side of the keyboard assembly. Review this IFIXIT guide Keyboard replacement. Look at Step 16 image in the bottom left is the Bluetooth board & antenna.
As to upgrading, I don't know of any upgrade that would work here. Maybe some else does.

@Kristopher - I think Nick gave up as there is just no built-in replacement part for this series of MacBook Pro. There are some external USB bluetooth units that will work if you need LE services. You still won't be able to gain Hand Off functions as the WiFi adapter won't work.
