the screen is half black holding it from bottom to top and this happened after i dropped it,but the screen looks fine on the surface, and when you unlock it from sleep mode it looks sort of cracky from the inside corner where i dropped it...is it the screen or software? do i need to replace something? thanks

visible screen and touchscreen are 2 different screens
so your touch is working ok but lcd screen is broken and needs replacement
there might be loose ribbon cable somewhere but most likely you have to get new screen
