My MBA is completely dead. Won't charge. Only a very dim green light. Pressing the start start button does not have any effect. The I / O board, if thats defect, can it course this situation or is the mainboard broken?
No liquid or bumps.

Given your problem I don't think your I/O cable is the problem. The power logic is part of the main logic board. It's more likely you have a bad logic board (cold solder joint).

Use a multimeter to test the output of the charger. What does the battery test button tell you? Professional serve people have a place in life too. Even they might have a tough time with this one.
