Detached Screen? Or is my iPhone 5 totaled?

Any help would be great.

So I went through the process of attempting to replace JUST the glass of my cracked iPhone 5 screen. To do this, you need to separate the glass from the actual LCD Digitizer. It is a hard process but it is doable.

I finished the process and went to turn my screen on, but to no avail. The screen is completely black and unresponsive. I'm guessing that my screen and digitizer is ruined through the process of replacing the glass. I'm okay with this.

What I want to know is- is my PHONE still okay? Meaning, can I purchase another LCD Digitizer and connect it via the ribbon cables and have it work?

A few things:

When I connect to the computer iTunes recognizes my phone as connected (even tho the screen wont turn on)

When I call the phone from another line, it rings in ear for awhile instead of going straight to voicemail, as if it is on.

When I toggle vibrate/sound switch, it is unresponsive. No vibration.

Thanks for any help!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Sounds like the ribbon cables aren't properly attached, but first try resetting the device (hold the power & home buttons for about 15 seconds). If that doesn't do it remove the screen and try reseating the cables.
