No Sound from bottom speaker?

Hi There,

My iPhone 5 a few months back decided to quit sending audio to the bottom speaker. I was in the middle of a speakerphone enabled call, and lost all sound suddenly. Since then, no ringer, no music, no sound at all. I'm considering replacing my speaker, but I'm not sure if that would actually be the cause or if something else has happened. The phone has never had water get into it, and has not been dropped. I figured since I have to replace the cable that controls the power button (as my button is rarely functioning now), I might as well do this too if I have enough people thinking the same.
