Lcd not working after water damage

I have an iPhone 5 that got wet. I have been working on iphones for sometime so I know how to work on them pretty well. I took it apart and cleaned and dried it as good as I can. Phone powers on, it recognized by itunes, makes sounds, vibrates and responds to touch but I get nothing on the screen. Tried connecting a new screen to the connectors and nothing also. What is wrong?

could be corroded pins not making contact or just nearby there are a few small components/resistors/capacitors (technical people will know which one it is) which are the most likely to be damaged by a short. Is there any faint image if you turn the phone to one side or shine a bright light on the screen? could be backlight or somewhere on that path. backlight solution

check LCD connecors here

Try to wash the connectors, or wash the entire logic board with 99% alcohol. This worked once for my Iphone 5 that was water damaged.

Never had display problems, but it fixed some other weird problems with my 5 after the water accident.

I bought a bottle of Isopropanol 99% and used a tooth brush gently cleaning the entire logic board. I also put the logic board for some minutes in a alchol bath.

Remember to let it dry properly before assembling again.

Maybe alot of work, but it can be worth a try to wash the display\ lcd connectors, both the connector on the logic board and the two on the screen.

Hope this helps.
