iPod dock introduced in 2010. Uses a 30-pin to interface to the iPod or iPhone connected. The iHome+Sleep app increases the functionality of the dock's feature set. While this is a single speaker dock due to the design, it sounds like it has dual speakers due to the Resonate speaker chamber.

Will this dock work with the Lightning to 30-pin?

Since we're 5 months away from Christmas, I thought it would be best to ask this now, and not find out the hard way later on

Since Christmas brings me the usual lot of used electronic toys to mess with from others because people as me if I want this stuff first, with how ingrained Lightning is at this point, I will probably end up with a Lightning iPod or two(in my HS, the Touch is everywhere), I need to know one thing

How well do these docks respond to the Lightning to 30-pin, and will most Lightning hardware work on this dock? I'm curious as to this so I know if I should just use the line-in or get a 30-pin to Lightning on eBay

You may need to re-think things from what I've seen the 30pin to Lighting adapter only works well on the iPhone 5. Check this out: Lighting adapter issues
