water damage, will not make calls

I dropped my phone in water, order your liberation kit and took off back and left in rice overnight. everything is working but the phone portion keeps saying it is searching. Wifi works and all emails and text are going through it now. I went to iTunes and reset to the last saved option. What next?

Rice does not fix corrosion. Disassemble your phone and check for corrosion. Clean it with 90%+ isopropyl alcohol, including all connectors. Use a soft brush for that. While you are cleaning it, check for any burned, missing or charred components. Pay attention to your inductors. You should also replace the battery since immersed batteries can fail at any time. After that, re-evaluate your functions.

Water damage can do all sorts of bad things to this iPhone and it may never work as it should again, but lets try and see if we can sort it.

I would recommend replacing the cellular antenna as this may be in some way faulty, complete this guide to replace the part iPhone 4S Cellular Antenna Replacement

Having said that, lets try one thing first, the antenna connects to the logic board via the connector shown in the guide, try cleaning the connector with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton bud, as corrosion could have stopped the connector working correctly, if that don't work please try replacing the antenna.

Please let me know how you get on.

Cheers
