What to do with broken Digitizer clip

While replacing the digitizer on a first gen Kindle Fire, I broke the clip that holds the digitizer flex cable in place, is there anyway that I could fix it so that I will be able to use the touch screen again? Or is my only chance to buy a new motherboard?
