Logic board replacement

does a macbook pro a1278 mid 2009 mainboard (2,26 Ghz Version) fit into a 2,53 Ghz mid 2009 case and vice versa?? or are they slightly different??

Yes it is completely interchangeable. Generally speaking, logic boards from the same release date will all be interchangeable (it would cost way too much to produce different versions of the top case units, etc, as the logic attaches directly to it). The only exception is the 15" 2.53GHz 2009 SD model. The top cases are the same, but the heatsink is different, and it only uses 1 fan... also, the white unibody ranges (2009 and 2010) are completely interchangeable as well.

(this isn't just a guess, i know this from personal experience and research into each unibody range)

The boards should fit (though I would seek a a guarantee from you vendor stating as much, to avoid restock charges should there be a problem.).

The differences are as stated, they are built on the same circuit board.
