Can a single copy of os be used with any logic board

Hello, I have a iMac that needs a new logic board, my question is if I replace the old with a new one,will my old OS still work with the new logic board? Or would I have to do something else to fix my computer? Thank you, Jace

Ok here is the last three digits of my Serial # X85

My EMC is 2133

My Model No. Is A1224

iMac 20/2.0/1X1GB/250GB/SD/AP/BT-USA

You should have no problem with your original system. I would stay within the same model number on your machine. If you give us the last three figures of your serial number (located on the bottom of your stand) we can tell you your exact machine and your upgrade options that we know will work.
