GPU upgrade for 2009 iMac 21.5 which shipped with 9400m

Hi there, just wondering if it is possible to upgrade the gpu of 2009 Imac that shipped with 9400m?

I am aware that if order online you were able to have a MXM ati 4670 graphics card put it.

Is there a difference between the logic board of my Imac and the made to order 21.5 imac with 4670? ie Does my Imac have the slot needed to take the ati 4670.

Plan to buy one of ebay to upgrade iMac but need to know that my will accept the upgrade.

This would be a very advanced DIY project - and you could end up with an inoperable machine. In order to access and replace a VGU (VGC) card you must basically dismantle the entire machine and reassemble it. There are problems with cost - locating the video chip you want, disposing of the one you have (maybe you'll get nothing for it).

My advice to you would be to sell your machine as is, take that money and the $ you'd spend on a new/replacement video chip and buy a MacPro (much easier to upgrade), or, an iMac with the sort of video chip you like/want/need.
