microphone compatibility between MBP and MBU

hi

i was wondering if the microphones for 13" MBPro and MBUnibody could be interchangeable? those for MBP are less scarce and less expensive to get hold of.

is it the same connector, perhaps same wires too?

Options

Depending upon why/what you need the microphone for (Skype/Face time/other) a USB microphone would work. If you're doing voice communication a voice quality unit with headset/earphone also eliminates feedback.

normally, i wouldnt bother. elegant solution, that usb or perhaps just external mic. but...

laptop will go to my mum. shes extremelly clumsy. already have destroyed a few laptops by pulling the usb conntectors out wrong way...

so i want to make sure there is nothing possible to break off of this one...
