Why not able to format/partition SSD?

i bought an Sandisk SSD (UltraPlus-128GB) and replaced my faulty Hard Disk in my MAC-book Pro.

After install, The device is detected in "Disk Utility", but i am unable to format / Partition the disk.

Error :

Partition failed with the error:

"POSIX reports:The operation couldn't be completed. Cannot allocate memory."

See if there are jumpers on the drive as it may need to be slowed down to be seen.

Yes, it's getting hard finding SSD's that work with SATA I or SATA II interfaces. Many are only able to work with SATA III now (newest models)
