Procedure to upgrade my os?

I have 10.6 7 os in my mac book pro the best option to upgrade my os can i opt for mountain lion,if so should i depend only the net for downloading or else can i opt for cd because i live in the southern tip of india where the net connection are not as fast as in u.s.please guide me.

Some older systems can't support Mountain Lion so it's important to verify your system is supported before you go down this path.

Sorry to say Mountain Lion can only be downloaded from the Apple's App Store legally (they don't offer a DVD or Flash drive option). If you can't get a fast reliable connection locally you may need to plan a trip into the city to connect into a better network connection.
