Screen not working properly after replacing proximity sensor

Hi everyone

I replaced the proximity sensor cable as my power button was not responding , I accidentally misplaced the sensitive bracket that was on the initial cable,( it's a little square plastic bracket) wish I was supposed to remove from the old cable and put on the new cable ,couldn't find it on the market so I reassembled the phone without it anyway,

Now my screen is not responding as it should , I press on one thing and it opens the option or app next to it.

Here is my question , does it have to do with this missing bracket ??

The lock button works fine , when I try to make phone call and cover the sensor with my hand the screen goes dark so works fine .

Thank you

You don't need that clip I would try a hard reset hold power and the home button at the same time til the phone shuts down and you see the apple logo hope it helps.
