Jumper settings for Toshiba 2tb sata hd

Hi, swaped out my old 250 gb drive for Ifixit toshiba 2tb sata drive, did the disk utility and Superduper and drive is still not recognized. The new hd is 6gb and this been an older iMac was wondering if I need to put in a jumper to reduce data rate to 3gb or 1.5gb?

Jumper down your drive or replace it. You're trying to run a SATA III drive on a SATA II connector. When upgrading there's more to buying parts than a name. All RAM and HDs are not the same. You have to match them to the system.
