Coffee spill on the bottom of my MacBook - screen went black

Help!

This is my second liquid offense against my beloved Macbook. You think I would've learned my lesson the first time I spent $900 to fix it!

I spilled some coffee on my desk and it got on the bottom half of the laptop (the coffee was behind it). I quickly picked it up, but the screen was already black. I quickly powered off. Right now it is upside down with the bottom case off.I don't seem to have any of the right equipment to take off the small little screws. There was still some residual liquid on the inside. I dried it off. I do not plan on turning it on for at least 48 hours.

Anything else I can do right now to help save it?

Disconnect the battery ASAP - Follow the iFixIt guide and use proper ESD protection when working on your system.

Get some distilled water and a good quality isopropyl alcohol (better than 70%). Using cotton swabs (Q-Tips) wipe the areas you found the spilled coffee. First using the distilled water then the alcohol as you have water (coffee, milk or cream and sugar) and alcohol (coffee & milk fats) soluble spillage.

Make sure the system is fully dry before starting it up. Good Luck!
