after installing the "iPhone 4 Dock Connector" mic dont work

After a successfully install, the iPhone 4 Dock Connector. My microphone on the Iphone 4 GSM won't work. Just wondering if someone got a clue of what I might done wrong ?

My problem before that was my iPhone could not be charged or connect to iTunes. But now it can, after changing the the Dock Connector.

If you know the old one works, and the new one doesn't, it may simply be defective (or a slightly torn cable is also hard to notice but will make something not work). A few percent are defective, I've gotten bad ones before but they are unusual. request an rma.

Thanks for quick answer, but its not that problem. Mic dont work at all, and i replaced my old one back now, and it work fine with my mic. Im not sure if the item is damaged or if I'll do something wrong. I replaced the rubber and removed the paste and the tape. still not working, Is there some plastic who need to be removed so it get a connection to ground or something like that maybe? thanks for help
