Why is my MacBook air shutting down it self
my mac book air shuts down after showing the gray apple logo. what can i do?

Try a Safe (shift) boot. share a bootable drive on your network and boot from it. ( Hold the Option key and choose that shared bootable disk, or the repair partition). If none of those work you should give us some history as to when/how/why this behavior started.
