Headphones still staticy after replacing ribbon

My Iphone 4s has a lot of static when using the headphone jack. After replacing the entire headphone assembly (includes jack, ribbon, upper mic, silencer switch, and volume control), I still have static. I am trying to figure out whether i damaged the ribbon during installation or the problem may be with the logic board or the possibility of an oversight during install. The condition is exactly the same as before the repair. Everything is functional with the exception of the headphone jack. The phone got smashed pretty good before repair and i ended up having to replace the screen and camera as well. Any help is appreciated.
