The symbol that indicates percentage of charge left isnt there.

In the upper right hand corner next to the users name, time and search icon there is no longer an icon that indicates the percent of charge left on my laptop. I searched on the computer itself for reselecting the icon if i somehow removed the icon, but nothing was found.

So I need to get the icon back in the corner so I am able to monitor when the battery charge is getting low so it wont just shut off in the middle of a task. Please help! thanks:)

Try going into system preferences, and then clicking on the Energy Saver icon (looks like a light bulb). There should be 2 tabs, one saying battery and the other saying Power Adapter. Towards the bottom left of the window, both should have a check box that says (Show battery status in the menu bar. Check the box and see if that fixes it.
